(s)language is an artists’ collective founded by Mario Ybarra Jr.. Juan Capistran, and Karla B. Diaz. (s)language’s space is located at 640 Avalon Boulevard in Wilmington, where they will be opening an art gallery in the summer of 2003. The drawings in this contribution to X-tra were commissioned works, drawn by portrait artist Eric Marquez. They were hung in the front window of the Avalon Boulevard space during Black History Month, February 2003.
